I bought a 40 s&w handgun and i am very disappointed i bought winchester 40 s&w ammo?

i cannot get it to chamber a round it hangs up everytime the fireing end of the round gets hung up under the fireing pin and hangs up is there something wrong with my gun or is it the type of ammo i am useing or do i need to oil up the chamber ha anyone esle had this problem and what do i do to correct it or was i wrong in buying a hi point weapon and should never buy another hi point gun i am very disappointed i have not got to fire my first round
